“I’ve been proud to work alongside the San Ysidro World War II Memorial Committee as they fight to build a monument honoring the veterans from our community. In this Facebook video, we talk about how this effort came to be, where we are in the process, and how YOU can help us get across the finish line. Our veterans deserve to be remembered.” – GERARDO RAMIREZ, Chief of Staff on the San Diego City Council 2026.

Your donation is needed to restore the Historic San Ysidro WWII Memorial / Honor Wall!

A lost World War II memorial, which originally honored 147 San Ysidro residents who served, once stood in front of the old San Ysidro library. The memorial mysteriously vanished, leaving only a partial photograph, prompting the San Ysidro World War II Memorial Committee to seek resources and support the memorial.
