Harry Louis Orgovan
Harry Orgovan is a native Chula Vistan. He grew up loving and learning about the great South Bay outdoors enjoying swimming, fishing, hiking, and watching the different birds at the San Diego Bay.
He volunteers as a nature educator through the Living Coast Discovery Center, being a docent and also taking others out in kayaks for wildlife tours. Chula Vista Kayaks has given Harry a platform to reach the community by sharing his knowledge of sea plants and animals including green sea turtles in the bay along with his years of service for the South Bay Historical Society as a Board member, Vice President, and Past President.
He co-curated the past exhibit in the Chula Vista Heritage Museum, ‘Natural History & Indigenous People of the South Bay Region. As the current President, he hopes to leave a legacy of involvement to the entire South Bay in the society, and a platform for historical education for generations to come.
He is the co-creator of the YouTube show Our Lives Our Future, which gives South Bay leaders and individuals a chance for their voices to be heard.
