The South Bay Historical Society oversees the Chula Vista Heritage Museum, located inside the Chula Vista Public Library (Central Location) at 365 F Street. Each year, SBHS unveils a new museum exhibit in January. We are pleased to announce that in January 2020 we will feature The Ruthie Exhibit: Remember Us The Holocaust.
Ruthie Sax was a Holocaust survivor who immigrated to the United States after her horrific experiences. She settled with her husband in Chula Vista, California. The exhibit, as told through artifacts and photos, tells the history of the Holocaust through the eyes of Ruthie. The exhibit also includes other South Bay locals who were victims of the Holocaust and has a history of the Jewish Temple in Chula Vista. The exhibit is curated by Sax’s daughter, Sandra Scheller.
Opening Day is still to be determined. The SBHS will host several events throughout 2020 that will be open to the public. Stay tune for more.
